What clients are saying….

“Our team retreat at Byrdhouse Ministries was exactly what our team needed after coming off a busy ministry season. The atmosphere and hospitality are the perfect combination to set the table for relaxing and connecting with the Lord. It was so replenishing, and Kym did a beautiful job beginning and ending our time together. Our team is already asking when we can do it again which is such a win!” ~Holly Local Church Team Leader

Ever wish for a quiet place to spend time with God where there are no interruptions in a serene setting?  I discovered Byrdhouse by attending two spiritual art workshops.  Both times I was enamored of the setting.  I live in Stone Mountain and the drive is Worth it! Recently I went for a soul rest half day. My friends ask me, what do you do on a soul rest day?  I take a journal, some art supplies, and a Bible. The trip up begins my time as I pray for a focus for the day.  I spend the rest of the day in prayerful exploration listening for God. I ended the day with many journal pages and a better understanding of what was hindering my walk with the Lord.  Had I nothing to “show for it” but a mind and heart that rested in the quiet, it would also be a worthwhile visit. (I do turn the volume off on my phone.) Claudia greeted me at the door.  I was reminded of where to find snacks, beverages, restrooms, and places to be.  The horses were not present this day.  Imagine a warm spacious mountain home with a fire in the fireplace. I walked through the house until I found my niche.  Comfortable chairs, window nooks and small desks invite rest.  I made a cup of tea.  When I tired of sitting, I could walk around the sizable property which includes a creek, a barn, lots of sitting space, firepits and a hiking path.  The large, roofed back porch area is comfortable with a large table. Byrdhouse is welcoming and restful.  Caregivers needing respite, grieving folks wanting a day to themselves, or seekers looking for safe comforting space to be, will find nurture and rest in this intentional retreat space.  Check out their website and sign up for a visit.  ~Sharon Gregory RN MDiv

In the fall of this year, when the weather was still warm and the earth was beautiful, I spent a day at the most amazing place--the Byrdhouse Ministries property. During a day of Soul Rest, I could roam the lovely house and grounds at will and enjoy the special treats at any time. I recently lost my husband of 53 years and my mind had gone to a dark place. The Byrdhouse was exactly what my soul needed. It was a day of just God and me. I talked to Him and listened to Him. I contemplated the rest of my life alone and realized that I am never truly alone. We came to a new understanding, God and I, through the process of spending time in that beautiful, restful, peaceful environment. I would encourage anyone to take advantage of that special place that provided such an awesome experience for me. Thank you, Byrdhouse, for letting me come and renew my spirit. ~Barbara

“Soul Rest” is not just a phrase at Byrdhouse; from the moment you pull in until the very second you leave, the feeling of a rested replenished spirit is felt. These moments are felt from the exterior atmosphere to the individuals who lead the ministry; being present is a reflection of Christ’s desire for us – to be wholly accepted, as and where we are, and to “getaway” and “find rest”-Matthew11:28 ~Kelley Eubanks Beecham

I was able to attend a soul care day for therapists recently. I wasn’t sure to expect but it was an amazing experience. Kym did a wonderful job of creating a space where we could exist and experience rest in a personal way. I look forward to planning another soul care day in the future. ~D. Brazemore

So encouraged & inspired by this place! In a world moving so fast & with so much noise, this little cabin in the woods is a much needed respite. The property is magical & God's love is seen & experienced in every nook and cranny. ~E.B. Cole

I have had the privilege of attending several of Byrdhouse Soul Rest days and every time I leave feeling refreshed and revived and ready to sign up for the next one. The staff and leaders are gracious, accommodating and ready to serve, not only you, but Jesus. The grounds are impeccable and inspiring. Time spent on their property will be just what your heart and soul needs, even if you didn’t know you needed it. ~David G.
