Mahjong Beginner Lessons 1&2
Want to learn the basics to play Mahjong? Grab some friends and have a group lesson. In the first lesson we learn the basics. In lesson #1 we learn the tiles, how to navigate the 2026/2027 Official Card and practice in a friendly environment. During Lesson #2 we practice and play games with support and instruction. Lessons are hosted one-two weeks apart while the info is fresh in your mind. Hosted by Kym and Paul Byrd. We will provide the mahjong sets, cards, tables and a lite snacks. Click here to inquire.

Want to just have fun and play Mahjong? Join us for a Mahjong night hosted by Kym and Amber. Research shows that playing Mahjong has tons of health benefits. It improves cognitive function, provides social connection and relieves stress (once you get over learning the card). We will play and fellowship. We will provide tables, 2026/2027 Cards, Mahjong sets and light snacks. This will be an easy and fun environment with no crazy competitions. Mistakes will be teaching moments! Men or Women welcome! Come enjoy the property and walking trail in silence. Set time apart for quiet connection and reflection with God. Light healthy lunch, drinks and snacks included. **Max capacity is 12 participants in order to stay within safety guide lines. Reservations and Payment are required to confirm your spot. Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 participant sign ups to host the event. In the event that we have to cancel, we will refund your money or move you to another Soul Rest Day of your choice. We also require a minimum cancellation of 48 hours prior to the eventunless there is an emergency or sickness to receive a refund as preparation and food purchases are done days before. A staff member will be present for assistance, this is a self guided time. Feel free to bring your own lunch, journal, books and art to work on. This workshop will be based on the newly released book “Considering Sparrows: What birds teach us about who we are and where we are going, and the joy of following Jesus." We will paint 3 wooden chunky plaques, add birds of fabric and decorate with lace, buttons, flowers etc. Each will be unique to the individual making them. Supplies and light snacks provided.

Most of us move through life assuming there will always be more time - to heal old wounds, pursue what matters, express our love, and become the people we long to be. Yet the truth is that our time is finite, and this reality has the power to awaken us to what matters most. In this workshop participants will explore the wisdom found in the words of Psalm 90:12: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Using a contemplative lens and experiential practices, participants will be invited to consider mortality not as something to fear or avoid, but as a profound teacher - one that can deepen gratitude, clarify values, strengthen relationships, and inspire a more intentional way of living. We will be exploring personal attitudes toward mortality and impermanence, reflecting on how the certainty of death shapes the choices we make and considering the realities of aging, suffering, and letting go.
Participants will leave with practical tools and reflective practices to help them live with greater awareness, authenticity, and appreciation for the preciousness of life. Supplies and light snacks provided.
